FBO Directory at SkyVector.com
A Blog for Southern California Pilots. Click on an airport for photos, approach notes, and HD Video clips. Hopefully these images will help give a sight picture to any new flyers to these airports. This was my 11 year adventure in the heavens. Your feedback is welcome, I would love to hear from you!
Burger Run to Norms Hanger, Bracket Field, KPOC
We rented a beautiful "Glass Cockpit" model Skylane182 from Mach1 Aviation at KVNY. Flying to Norms Hanger Coffee Shop, La Verne, with a stop at El Monte. Mike got to test out his new Go-Pro camera. We'll try it again with the audio cable next time. If approaching from the West, along the 10 freeway, the tower will have you report Kellog Hill, followed by left downwind for 26L. The staff at Norm's is very friendly and the food is good. You can pick up a beacon code from ground control if you want to go south from here and transition the Ontaio Class Charlie. Be sure and stay over the lake shoreline on climbout from runway 26 and head for the Puddingstone Dam. This way you don't overfly the homes on the hill north of the lake, or the RV park east of the lake. We had trouble getting this plane started after lunch. We got a jump start from an FBO at KPOC and finally got it started, for an uneventful return flight home.
